Poker school
With the game of poker taking the online gaming environment by storm, different poker-related activities have also grown to feel the effects of this new global poker-craze.
Such connected activities are poker room review sites, poker tips and strategy sites, different affiliates, and last but certainly not least poker schools ( purpose-built websites to educate people about this wonderful game).
To understand the process that led to the creation of such websites, one needs to have a deeper comprehension of the game mechanics and the general position of poker in the online gaming world.
First of all – it could be just my impression, correct me if I'm wrong – but there seems to be a great deal more useful educational material out there in cyberspace about poker than there is about any other casino game. The reason could be one of the following:
– poker is a game based on skill and luck as well. There is actually a lot one can do to influence the odds, there is a great deal of strategy and psychology involved. People have plenty to write about when it comes to poker.
– Other casino games are purely luck-based, there isn't really any kind of strategy that can significantly influenmce the odds, plus the casinos don't really have the interest to thoroughly educate players about those games. Nobody needs a pain in the neck and they're no exception.
– Poker rooms and online poker rooms have the interest to educate as wide a target-audience as possible. After all, people play each other and not the house in these poker rooms, and the more players there are, the more substantial the rake is for the house.
A person with some degree of poker education is a lot more likely to take to the game than someone who has no interest or knowledge about the matter.
Having considered the above thoughts, one can see why poker schools are actually helping the industry rather than making it tougher for online poker rooms. Besides the help that they provide for online poker by generating new players, they also help players. Anybody interested enough to spend some time in these poker schools, can acquire the set of knowhow today's greats have struggled years to discover and to apply.
Many of these schools go to great lengths in promoting their eventual talents, by offering theit top players tournament sponsorhips and such. The whole atmosphere in a school like this is as close as possible to a real poker room, only it's friendlier, players can have much more of a quality time, with instructors ready to help them, and knowing that their bankroll is safe.
Even players who are not top-game in their class, show significant improvement in their play, enough to get them in the money ( that is lose less than they win) and many of them walk away having aquired some lifelong friendships in school.
In conclusion, I suppose it's safe to state that a poker school is one of those things that can be characterized as fully positive, meaning that it does nobody harm, and it helps everybody who comes into contact with it. It's not like it's helping some for the detriment of others, it helps everybody from player to poker room owner.
In an online establishment like thi,s there is no shame is having no idea how the game works, what cards make up a full house or a straight flush. This is the beauty of it all. No intimidation, no laughing at your amateurish moves. They simply take you through everything starting with the basics: poker hands, Play styles, betting, through intermediate stuff like poker rules to advanced pot odds analysis and bluffing techniques.
Of course, nobody should ever expect to emerge from a school like this, a pro poker player, however he/she will definitley be game next time he/she hits a poker room, and the days when he/she used to be the laughing stock of the table will soon be forgotten.
So if you reckon you're having problems with your game, finding it difficult to differentiate between a full house and two pairs, the straights don't look straight at all for you, I have one thing to tell you. Shool's in, so head on over to a poker school and get the issue solved. Simple as that. I know you want to...
